Happy Valentines Day
New Video
Just finished editing this video I shot over Christmas in Miami. Talia is an endless source of inspiration for me and I'm so happy she welcomed the idea to make a little video at her studio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qd8Bxfg3a4
The song is Pink Martini "Je ne veux pas travailler"
Roar
Last month I was lucky enough to photograph Rory and his team at Roar Salon for Tribeza. I had so much fun getting to know the talented, not to mention super stylish, folks at Roar.
Check out the January issue to see the rest of the photos.
Deeyn Rhodes for Austin Monthly Home
Last month I photographed incredibly sweet and stylish Deeyn Rhodes in her new home-goods store Nannie Inez on South First. It's filled with the most beautiful things, it's curated to perfection.
Pick up this months issue of Austin Monthly Home to read all about Deeyn and Nannie Inez.
Fun Fun Fun Fest style for Free People
Last weekend I photographed some festival style at Fun Fun Fun Fest for the Free People blog.

Janet St. Paul
Here are a few photos I took of hair stylist extraordinaire Janet St. Paul at her salon for CultureMap. See more photos and read all about her and her Austin-based salon HERE.
Ramona
Last week I got together with my good friend and travel writer Ramona to photograph her for a contributor photo in Budget Travel Magazine. It's always a good time when this one's around, we had coffee and shot at Cenote, one of my favorite places for coffee in Austin.
On the water
These are from a few weeks ago on a very early morning out on Town Lake. I photographed Arienne who was so lovely and game for being ferried back and forth across the water.
Anne Hudson for Austin Monthly
I photographed radio and tv personality Anne Hudson for the Favorite Things feature in this month's issue of Austin Monthly on newsstands now. Anne is such a beauty and has the best personality. It was so much fun getting to work with her and getting a glimpse into her favorite things of the season.

Going back to Cali
Quick iphone photos taken from our weekend trip out to Los Angeles.
Bill and I spent a year after we graduated Brooks living in downtown LA. It was one of the hardest years I've ever had and at the end of it I couldn't wait to leave. We went back to LA this past weekend for work and stayed a few days longer. I was surprised at how much I had missed it and how nostalgic it made me feel (of course I don't think about the bad times now.) I wish we could've stayed longer, there were still so many places we wanted to go to. But we got to see our friends and hit up our favorite places: Melrose Flea Market, The Getty, In-N-Out, and Griffith Park. It was a great trip but i'm happy to be back in Austin.
Vintage Heart Coffee
I photographed Vintage Heart Coffee on east 7th last week. It was such a cool space, beautiful light and designed so well. Not to mention the great people that worked there, including owner Mallory (photographed below.) I highly recommend it if you're in Austin.

Sneak Peek from new shoot
For the newest Closet Pique we raided the home and closet of the very cool and stylish Shari from Charm School Vintage.
Taxidermy and lace fill her home in the best combination possible, I can't wait to show you the full story! I'll link to it as soon as it's live.

A Look Back
I spent this last weekend going through a bunch of my old negatives and prints from photo school. (I went HERE) This top photo is the first picture I EVER took of Bill. I dragged him out to the middle of this field – with a lot of dead branches apparently – with my 4x5 camera and took his portrait. We weren't really friends yet just acquaintances and all I remember is that we talked almost the whole time about hurricanes. (When we talked about it later that's all he remembers too) Looking back was fun but glad I never have to cut mattes ever again.
